THE VILLAGE!

Well, Its time to Post again!! This time we are going to talk about... The Village!!!

Nooooo, not the Film!!

Who is in your Village?? Who is a part of your Village? When I say the Village, what do I mean??

I mean your Relationships! Your Family!!

Who has come up with you on this wonderful Journey?? Who did you start out with? Who do you keep in touch with?? Who tells you the truth? Loves on You? Calls you when your down? Calls you when you Up?? Helps you get yourself together?? Gives you a mint when your breath stinks... you get the picture!!

Know this, my Village is so beautiful to me that it brings tears to my eyes... There are those who I keep in touch with daily, weekly or monthly. Then there are those who, when we run into each other, its like no time has passed.

That is what I mean by Village!!

My brother, who started me in this business, would say "Tray.. People like to work with People they like and people who work hard. Be there before they get there and stay after they leave" I listened and digested!!

I try to work hard, stay in touch, stay positive and say what I mean and mean what I say.

In any business, you are only as good as your last job!! I have remembered that since I started and I continue to keep it in mind as I go through this journey. My Village consists of Studio Executives, Directors, Producers, A.D's, P.A.'s, Crafty, The Glam Squad, Photographers, Casting Directors, Writers, Lawyers, Doctors, Actors, Interns, Agents, Assistants... all types of wonderful people.

Are you keeping in touch with people? Being supportive?? Do you have a supportive circle of friends? Are you nurturing your relationships??

I hope so!!

I continue to work hard in this area. I make mistakes and fall short at times but Im Trying!!!

Keep Working at it!! Work on your Village!!

Thanks for the blog and definitely thanks for the reminder! I certainly love and appreciate my "village". But I know that I sometimes forget to take care of them the way they take care of me. I promise to keep working at being better! Thanks for the memory jog!
Also congratulations on the upcoming transition!
I'm looking forward to seeing you involved with many great films in the future!

Twinkie, you need to change the name of this blog to 'Pearl Town!' Maybe in the next post. ;)

Wisdom in its truest form simply makes good sense. You are indeed counted among the wise. I suspect many readers have been spending the last few hours writing notes and making calls to catch up on this oft neglected side of many of our lives. We can all think of one or two we need to reach out and touch.

Thank you for the reminder.

Villages are important indeed, especially seeing as i actually come from one! :) It's true what you say, it's almost as if all else is superfluous apart from the loves that one nurtures, and the legacy one leaves behind.

Aloha, Jane

Attagirl, Twinkie! Lovin' your blog. Keep up the good work!

I know I love my Village and thank them every day in every way. Hopefully, most of all, by doing the good work they taught me how to do and inspiring others to do good work too.

That's all it is!

Thanks for the email. I'll subscribe to your blog. Mine's http://spynotebook.org/bonnie if you'd like to do the same. ;)

XO

Hey Twinkie! You are speaking nothing but the truth! As I think about the people that have been in my life from the beginning I am truly blessed. They give it to me straight. They have no pretense or no agenda. It is just out of pure love. I love my village!!! Since moving to LA from the east coast the past year some amazing new people have come into my life. As I was meeting people it was very easy to see who was real and who was not. My village is growing and I am trying to be better at staying connected with all of my loved ones. Thanks for the reminder because Lord knows as tough as life is it does take a village! Stay blessed Twinkie and much success to you!

Amen to the village! If it weren't for my village of family and close knit friends I'm not sure if I would have the confidence or drive to continue in this crazzy but absouletly amazing Industry. Preach Twinkie ;)
