The Introduction Of Twinkie

This is the introduction of Twinkie!!

Lets start with the first thing first... I LOVE MY CAREER!!!

I dont know what else I would be doing but I do know this..

GOD designs it all!! I am just following instructions!

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and started casting in the height of the Music Video Era with directors such as Brett Ratner, Lionel Martin, Jeff Byrd, Stefan Sednaoui, Mary Lambert & Kevin Bray just to name a few.

I have learned from Casting Directors in New York such as Tracey Moore, Julie Hughes, Sarah Hyde-Hamlet, Winsome Sinclair and Shirley Sender. I interned for Terry Williams in Publicity and learned so much from being allowed to be around the professionals in this wonderful industry called Entertainment.

Starting in Music Video was Great!! Interning for CD Winsome Sinclair, I learned how to set up a good audition. How to bring in the proper talent for the roles. How to Prepare talent for auditioning.

After learning, I stepped out on my own and started to build my own clientele, my village so to speak. I struggled, worked hard, interned, opened up, changed and grew!!

I moved to Los Angeles in 1997. I never dreamed that I would have cast a Number 1 hit Movie in America of 2007... Ten years after my arrival to LA but please know that through God, Tenacity, Hard Work and Perseverance... It Can Happen!!

DREAM BIG!!! WORK HARD!!!

BE OPEN TO LEARN FROM THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE YOU!!

Twinkie!
It seems there a people who we meet, that if we really pay attention to them- they are just a blessing God has prepared for us, through the sharing of their own journey. To know that you pressed for ten years!
That right there is a lesson on patience and deligence.
I look forward to seeing more of your experience unfold.

Thank you,
Andean....it's so exciting to see a real live testimony in the making

For those who are reading this and haven't met Twinkie, she will not tell you what you WANT to hear, but will tell you what you NEED to hear. Her no-nonsense, professionalism attitude will get the job done, but her good natured attitude keeps the mood light. Whether you are looking for a casting director for your next project or an instructor for audition techniques, Twinkie Byrd has an eye for talent and will accomplish the mission.

It is a beautiful thing when you are walking in your purpose that God has chosen for you. That is exactly what Twinkie Byrd is doing. Casting is truely her passion and it shows. I took her Cold Read Workshop where I learned all of the little "pearls" she dropped that you need to know as an actor walking into a room. She will pin point your specific strengths and weaknesses and work with you on them so that you can stretch and grow as an actor. There are a lot of classes out there to choose from, but if your looking for the truth then Twinkie is the one for you!

Twinkie,
I'm so glad you have started this blog and are willing to share more your "pearls". Your class was very informative and the knowledge I received will really help the progression of my career. As I continue with my marathon, I do hope to see you again along the way.

Much Love,
Sharonica Cleveland
P.S. I have finally finished my 12 weeks of technique and moved up to scene study...for my first scene on Monday I am Effie from Life and Limb. My scene partner has a very strong Hungarian accent so not only do I have to really listen so I can react truthfully, I have to really have to listen so I can understand her.

Hey Twinkie!
YOU KEEP IT REAL! What you told people in Steve's showcase is what they REALLY needed to hear!! You see the root of the problem in a scene.
People are blessed to have you watch them work...

Also, thank you for telling my son he was lucky to have a dad thats there. It's one thing when I tell him but it was a whole other thing when you did! His grades are getting better! I'm going to make him read "rich dad, poor dad".

Once again Thank you and really hope to see you soon! :)

You are the wisest person I know! Well, besides my own mother lol. I truly absorbed every pearl that you dropped in class. You have inspired me AND taught me how to get myself known - when really, at the beginning, at had no clue on where to start. The story of your beginning is wonderful and I look forward to reading more!! Thanks! <3

Happy belated New Year Twink. You've listen a lot of movies that I like myself and it was nice to see a top CD be so open and honest because when we stand front and center in the room with you all it's very disarming and a bit shakey for us.

Thank you so much and hope to see you soon.

Miss Twinkie, you are indeed an inspiration, even though I've only worked with you once! It's inspiring to hear another sister that has not given herself to the "gods" of this industry, but remains focused on hard work and positive relationships as a means of achieving her goals. God is indeed good to you and has provided miracles in your work. Keep it up!
